We had plenty of wind for this evenings yacht race, and I got to helm
again, we went for the small jib which seemed to be sufficient for us. We
didn't get a great start (must remember the to take the digital watch with
the countdown), but we had plenty of wind so had the winches in the water
up the first beat, the wind stayed with us until the final beat so we had a
really good sail although it did get gusty later on, which made for some
interesting legs with big gusts and big holes. Towards the end of the race
we even saw a seal near Pill Creak that swam over to have a peak at us
sailing by. Unfortuantly we lost some ground early on so as we came down
the last leg the wind died away which put us outside the time limit for
finishing, still we had a great sail and got to practice with more wind,
plus we finished off in the clubhouse with a pint and a pasty.
